DC37 COVID-19 Information

The COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak is increasingly impacting both our work and personal lives. DC 37 is committed to providing essential services while ensuring the safety of our members and colleagues, as well as distributing the most up-to-date information on how the virus is affecting us.

We remain at your service! Please see the menu at the top for information and resources on COVID-19 response in NYC as well as ways to contact us.

Sisters and Brothers,

We find ourselves at the epicenter of COVID-19. Dedicated DC 37 members are on the frontlines providing vital health care and city services at the risk of their own health and their families. You are going above and beyond to respond to the coronavirus pandemic. Our union is working nonstop to continue providing services, information and support to you and have created a new website for up-to-the-minute information on COVID-19.

But we need more. We are on the phone day and night with representatives in Congress fighting for PPE to protect your health as you continue to do your job protecting the lives of New Yorkers.

We are outraged that President Trump and U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell continue to drag their heels on a COVID-19 response, jeopardizing many lives in the process. They have shortchanged New York on much needed equipment and  federal aid, handing us a paltry and disproportionate share, even as New York has more COVID-19 cases than any other state. We are outraged that health care workers still are without the basic PPE--masks, gloves, and gowns--they need. We find it unacceptable that frontline essential workers are getting sick and risk bringing COVID-19 home to their loved ones.

Dear members, you are appreciated and your dedication is duly noted.

We are working with the City, and state and federal representatives to make sure each and every one of you who are now designated as essential workers in the fight against deadly COVID-19 are not ignored, overlooked or silenced.

We are your union and we are fighting for you. We are in this together. We are DC 37 and we make our city run.

Executive Director, District Council 37
